Getting started

Welcome to WebGPT! This quickstart guide walks you through creating your account, choosing a plan, and taking your first steps with AI-powered content creation and WordPress management.

Create an account

Before you can use any WebGPT features, you need to create a free account. The process takes less than two minutes.

  1. Visit the sign-up page
Navigate to the WebGPT sign-up page by clicking Sign up in the top navigation bar, or go directly to /auth/signup.
  2. Fill in your details
Enter your email address, choose a username, and create a strong password (at least 6 characters, including a number and a capital letter). All fields are required.
  3. Submit the registration form
Click the Create account button to create your account. You are taken straight to the verification screen to confirm your email address — there is no separate login step.
  4. Verify your email
Check your inbox (and spam/junk folder) for a verification email from WebGPT. Enter the 6-digit code on the verification screen, or click the confirmation link in the email. Verifying your email is required before you can use WebGPT, and it starts your 7-day free trial.
Tip
If you do not see the verification email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder. Some email providers may delay delivery. You can resend the code from the verification screen.

Choosing a plan

Every new account starts on the Junior Starter plan with a 7-day free trial — no plan selection or credit card is required to begin. You can switch plans at any time from Account → Billing. WebGPT offers two starter plans, both with a 7-day free trial so you can explore the platform without commitment.

Available plans

Plan Price AI keys Best for
Junior Starter $19/month Uses platform AI (no keys needed) Beginners who want a simple, ready-to-go setup
Independent Starter $9/month Bring your own AI API keys Users who already have OpenAI, Gemini, or other AI provider accounts
Free trial
Both plans include a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial period ends. You can cancel at any time during the trial if you decide WebGPT is not the right fit.

Key differences

  • Junior Starter ($19/month) — All AI processing uses WebGPT's built-in AI credits. You do not need to set up any external API keys. This is the simplest way to get started. AI chatbots are included, capped at 3 chatbots and 25 messages a day.
  • Independent Starter ($9/month) — You connect your own AI API keys (OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, DeepSeek, xAI Grok, Mistral AI, or Perplexity Sonar). You pay the AI providers directly for usage, which is often more cost-effective for heavy users. Independent plans include AI chatbots and all other features.

To select a plan, click the Start free trial button on your preferred plan card. No credit card required — your trial starts instantly with full access to all plan features.

First steps checklist

Now that your account is set up, here are the recommended first steps to get the most out of WebGPT:

  1. Set up your AI API keys (Independent plans only)
On any Independent plan, connect at least one provider key before generating content. Go to Integrations → AI API keys and add your OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, DeepSeek, xAI Grok, Mistral AI, or Perplexity Sonar key. One key is enough to get started — add more any time. Junior Starter users can skip this step; the platform provides pre-configured AI access out of the box.

  2. Connect a WordPress site
If you manage WordPress websites, connect at least one site so you can publish AI-generated content directly from WebGPT. Navigate to Integrations → WordPress and follow the connection wizard. You will need your WordPress site URL, a username, and an application password.

  3. Track your AI visibility
Set up your brand and a few example prompts to measure how AI assistants (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) respond when people ask about your space — and where your brand sits relative to competitors. Go to AI Visibility to add your brand and start tracking.

  4. Create your first article
Head to Create → AI articles to generate your first piece of content. Choose a platform, enter a topic, select an AI model, and hit generate. You can edit the result in the built-in rich text editor and publish it when ready.

  5. Generate an AI image
Go to Create → Images to generate your first image. Describe what you need, choose an AI provider, and generate. You can refine the result with follow-up prompts until it looks right, then download or use it in your content.

  6. Explore AI chatbots
Available on every plan — Junior Starter includes up to 3 chatbots and 25 messages a day; Independent plans are unlimited. Try building one: upload documents to create a knowledge base, configure a chatbot, and embed it on any website. This is a powerful way to add AI-powered customer support or information assistants to your sites.

Explore at your own pace
There is no requirement to complete every step right away. WebGPT is designed to be modular — you can start with just article creation and add integrations or chatbots later as your needs grow.
