Generate images from text prompts using multiple AI providers, refine them iteratively, and manage your image library with tags.

What are Images?

Images lets you generate images from text descriptions using your connected AI providers. You describe what you want, select an AI model, and the system creates an image. You can then refine the result by describing changes, building up through multiple versions until you get the image you need.

Generated images are saved to your personal library where you can organize them with tags, search by prompt, and use them as featured images in your articles.

Supported AI providers

AI image generation works with any provider you have connected in AI accounts that offers image-capable models:

  • OpenAI — GPT-Image 1, GPT-Image 1.5, GPT-Image 1 Mini, ChatGPT Image Latest
  • Google — Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, Gemini 3 Pro Image, Gemini 3.1 Flash Image, Imagen 4 (Standard, Ultra, Fast)
  • xAI — Grok Imagine Image, Grok Imagine Image Pro
Your own API keys
Image generation uses your own AI provider API keys. Each generation is billed directly by the provider based on their pricing. You can see cost details in your usage history.

Generating images

  1. Write a prompt
    Describe the image you want to create. Be specific about style, composition, colors, and subject matter for best results.
  2. Select an AI model
    Choose a provider and model from the dropdown. Only providers with image-capable models are shown.
  3. Configure settings
    Depending on the selected model, you can configure size (OpenAI), aspect ratio (Google, xAI), quality level (OpenAI), and resolution (xAI, Google).
  4. Generate
    Click Generate image. The image will appear in the results area once ready.

Refining images

After generating an image, you can refine it by describing the changes you want. Each refinement creates a new version while keeping all previous versions in the history.

  1. Click Refine on a generated or saved image
  2. Describe the changes you want (e.g., “make the sky more dramatic” or “add a boat in the foreground”)
  3. Click Apply refinement

You can refine an image up to 15 times. The version history strip shows all versions as clickable thumbnails, and you can revert to any previous version at any time.

Managing your images

The My images tab shows all your saved AI-generated images as cards. Each card shows the image thumbnail, the prompt used, the AI model, and creation date.

Tags

Organize images with tags for easy filtering. You can add up to 10 tags per image when saving. Use the tag filter pills above the gallery to filter by one or more tags.

Available actions

Each image card has a menu (three dots) with these actions:

  • Refine — Open the image in the Generate tab for further refinement
  • Download — Download the full-size image to your device
  • Delete — Permanently delete the image and all its versions

Using AI images in articles

When creating an article, the Add picture section includes a My images tab alongside the free image search and upload options. This tab shows your saved generated images, allowing you to select one as the article's featured image without leaving the article creation page.

Usage limits

Image generation counts toward your plan's daily usage limits. Each generation or refinement counts as one usage.
